About

Teresita Scully, MTS

Having taught theology in many different capacities for some 45 years, I am now retired and living happily with my husband in Albuquerque, NM.

we have been happily married for 50 years.  We have two grown sons and five grandchildren.  I am from New Mexico.  Part of my childhood was spent in Colorado.  My education was mostly in New Mexico.  I have a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies (MTS) from St Norbert College which I attended both in Green Bay, WS and at the Albuquerque, NM campus.

My teaching experience includes serving as a catechist, an organizer/presenter of women’s scripture study groups (Pecos, NM), Director of Religious Education (Santa Fe), Director of Catechumenate and co-Director of Liturgy (Santa Fe Cathedral), Director of School of Ministries (Santa Fe Deanery), Pastoral Associate (Deming, NM), Chairperson of Santa Fe Ministerial Alliance, Board Member of New Mexico Conference of Churches, Youth Minister (Tucson), High School and College teacher (Lourdes Catholic School Nogales, AZ).

Philosophy of Teaching: My philosophy of teaching is first of all to teach as Christ taught by prayerful example and social justice activities; to be one who is a learner and listener herself, open to new ideas and methods; to be collaborative, formative, deeply rooted in Scripture and the Catholic Theological Traditions.

My website relies heavily on both visual and verbal information. It is now dedicated to theological discussions.

The nature photos on the website are almost exclusively those of my husband, Jim Scully, a few are by our son, Chris Scully and very few by me.
