Teachers in the new creation

In John’s gospel Mary of Magdala is given a unique role which is that of apostle (teacher) to the apostles. For John the Beloved, the Resurrection is a new creation and in the new creation woman is restored fully to her position as equal with man, as man’s full  complement including in man’s teaching/ordering roles.  A page of this website is dedicated to outstanding women of Catholic history and what they have to teach us. This mandala represents three outstanding moments in the life of Mary of Magdala–her meeting Jesus in Galilee most likely at the synagogue in Magdala, her vigil at the foot of the cross as Jesus was dying, Jesus appearance to her Easter morning.   A page of this site is dedicated to remarkable women teachers.
